Where do you use the silicone sealant
The sealant is used on the bottom edge of the shingles, sealing down the bottom of the shingle over the ones below. covering where you have previously nailed.
It can also be used in a similar fashion to seal ridge pieces if using the shingles to create a ridge

Hi when fitting these do you have to batten the roof. If so what the spacing for these?
You would not need to batten the roof, these need to be installed onto a flat boarded surface as they are made from bitumen felt. If boarding the roof to install shingles best to use OSB3 board 18mm thick.
