Bitumen Corrugated Roof Sheets
Bitumen roof sheets are a lightweight cost effective roof covering for pitched roofs and near flat roofs. Easily installed, they are most certainly a DIY friendly roof covering. Available in a range of colours mean they are not only suitable as shed roof coverings and workshops but are also great for more decorative projects such as summer house roof coverings, and log cabins.
Most bitumen roof coverings are corrugated sheets which help the water be channelled of the roof and enable them to accommodate a low pitch roof as low as 5 degrees. (Not all sheets are the same always check the minimum pitch before purchase, if in doubt, give us a call and we will find out for you) When using roof sheets on a low pitch roof, its usually required that the roof is boarded, with either OSB board (oriented strand board) or plywood.
Being a solid sheet, they do not let light pass through making them a great choice for animal shelters for shade and because they are bitumen, they are less noisy than plastic roof sheets or metal roof sheet alternatives meaning your rabbit or other outdoor pet can rest easy undisturbed. If light is wanted there is an accompanying clear roof sheet that can be used as a rooflight. This can avoid having to find a solution for powered lighting in your shed or workshop. These sinusoidal roofing sheets also allow for ventilation at eaves level, beneficial both for animals and workshops where there may be higher amounts of dust and debris to consider. If, however you want to keep the warmth in, such as in cases of use for a summer house or sunroom, there are eaves fillers available.
